About Tamara

Tamara has been making art as long as she can remember. Her grandmother was a painter and she grew up surrounded by original art. Watching her paint, Tamara learned that making art was a normal part of everyday life – something anyone can do.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Design in communication design and education from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design, Tamara worked for a number of years as a graphic designer. One day, looking for something creative to do while being a stay-at-home mom, she took her first clay class. It was love at first sight and she has been working in clay ever since.

Having grown-up on the ocean in Nova Scotia, she has also lived in Montreal, Toronto and Vermont where she taught in the pottery studio of the University of Vermont for eight years. After a brief hiatus in Chicago, Tamara now lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
